THIS WEEK

We’re thinking about the question: “How can we show gratitude to essential workers and helpers in our community?”
Your challenge this week is to create an “Expression of Gratitude” to honor a community helper and their important work.
Let's Get Started!

You’ve already created a plan for how you will show gratitude. When someone looks at your plan, they should see:
The helper that you want to thank
At least 1 reason this job is important
A sketch of your ideas to show gratitude

Look at this student’s plan:
Does this work seem to show the helper this person wants to thank?
Does this work have at least 1 reason why this helper’s job is important?
Does this work include a sketch for how they want their “Expression of Gratitude” to be?
Now imagine you have the chance to give this student feedback on their work to make it stronger and clearer.

What advice would you give the student to make this work even stronger?
The student could add…
The student could try…
The student could change…

Keep in mind your challenge this week:
Create an “Expression of Gratitude” to honor a community helper and their important work.
Today, you will revisit your plan to check if you are meeting your goals.

1. Pencils down! This is a thinking exercise! Look at your work and ask:
Does it show the helper I want to thank?
Does it have at least 1 reason why this helper’s job is important?
Does it include a sketch for how I want my “Expression of Gratitude” to be?
2. Complete one of these sentences:
I will add…
I will try…
I will adjust…
3. Make that change on your plan.
Remember to save your plan. You’ll use it to create your “Expression of Gratitude.”
