THIS WEEK
We’re thinking about the question: “How can we show gratitude to essential workers and helpers in our community?”
Your challenge this week is to create an “Expression of Gratitude” to honor an essential worker and their contribution to the community.
Let's Get Started!
You’ve already created a plan for how you will show gratitude. When someone looks at your plan, they should see:
The essential worker that you want to thank
A description of this worker’s role and why it’s important
An example of what would happen without this worker
A sketch of your ideas to show gratitude

Look at this student’s plan:
Does this work seem to show the essential worker this person wants to thank?
Does this work describe the role and why it’s important?
Does this work include an example of what would happen without this worker?
Does this work include a sketch for how they want their “Expression of Gratitude” to be?
Now imagine you have the chance to give this student feedback on their work to make it stronger and clearer.

What advice would you give the student to make this work even stronger?
The student could add…
The student could try…
The student could change…
Keep in mind your challenge this week:
Create an “Expression of Gratitude” to honor an essential worker and their contribution to the community.
Today, you will revisit your plan to check if you are meeting your goals.
1. Pencils down! This is a thinking exercise! Look at your work and ask:
Does it show the essential worker I want to thank?
Does it describe the role of the essential worker and why it’s important?
Does it include an example of what would happen without this worker?
Does it include a sketch for how I want my “Expression of Gratitude” to be?
2. Complete one of these sentences:
I will add…
I will try…
I will adjust…
3. Make that change on your plan.
Remember to save your plan. You’ll use it to create your “Expression of Gratitude.”
